We Listen not Lecture
Client-Centered Therapy is exactly that, therapy centred around you - the client. At banyantree21 you are in the driver's seat of your recovery. We invite you as a welcome guest and it is important to us that you feel like one throughout your stay. Lecturing is not our way. There is a big difference in the feeling of being listened to, and being lectured at.
At banyantree21 our holistic and personal approach takes into account your individual circumstances; you will not be bound by an inflexible system. Our counselling style follows the lead of psychologist Carl Rogers who developed a therapeutic orientation known as Rogerian, or Client-Centered Therapy (sometimes called Person-Centered Therapy).
We understand everyone is unique and will respond in their own way to different types of therapy and support. For some it is 12-Steps, for others a more logical approach such as CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) may have a deeper impact. For others still, a combination of two or more practices.
